Hello and welcome to Gluten Free Investigation! It’s wonderful that you’ve found your way to my corner of the infosphere.
I’m your guide, Victoria, and I invite you to follow along as I explore living a gluten free lifestyle. Whether you have Celiac Disease, a gluten allergy or sensitivity, know someone with one of the above, or are simply interested in the lifestyle, I hope that my journey will provide some useful tips, tricks, and insights!
I’ve been gluten free since 2014 and have come to truly enjoy exploring the intricacies of gluten-free cooking, especially baking! Modification and experimentation can be frustrating at times, but persisting through the challenges to create delicious gluten free foods makes it all worthwhile.
Dinning-out for the gluten free person is often a nerve-racking experience. I’ve found solace in researching my options, and looking to reviews by others sharing my dietary restrictions (I’m a double-threat: gluten free + vegetarian, with vegan leanings). In the spirit of deepening the knowledge base, I’ll be sharing my take on local spots with extensive Gluten Free Menus in the DC metro area and other places I visit. I’m also going to highlight other resources I encounter that help transform living with a food allergy less from a restriction to an adventure. Restaurants that take the time and care to create Gluten Free Menus often times seriously do it right!
As fas as technology goes I’ve found some useful apps that make gluten free food shopping easier. But I’m always looking for new ways to make living gluten free seamless and less of an inconvenience (it can be a stressful undertaking, especially for those caring individuals trying to accommodate loved ones with dietary restrictions when they invite them into their gluten-filled homes–it can be a daunting task, and I think I can say with certainty that we all thank you for caring enough to try…and for asking us for more information when you’re unsure–we really ❤ you for that last part). Stay tuned as I explore what new technologies are throw our way.
I hope that you’ll let me hear your voice too, either by commenting on my recipes, sending me an email, or by following or tagging me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
I look forward to pointing out resources that will help answer your questions. I’m a Librarian, which means I’m basically a research nerd. If you ever find yourself frustrated and trying to find an answer, I invite you to send me message. I will happily link you to useful information!
I hope you find my recipes, recommendations, musings, and reviews both useful and entertaining.
Thanks for visiting Gluten Free Investigation!
